Cast Sculpture Promotes Peace
The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois, has featured a piece of art named Master Peace. The cast sculpture stands 25-ft. tall and was first exhibited in 2014. It consists of 500 origami-inspired cranes, and if you look in the reflection below you can see 500 more. Why is 1,000 cranes significant? According to legend, 1,000 folded cranes in one year leads to a granted wish, and it’s common for people to fold hoping for longevity and health. The piece was designed by Kevin and Jennifer Box.
